So I get home Sunday evening from Ridgecrest and Alysha, Jen, and Whitney are all in the living room/dinning room either eating or on their computer. I ask everyone how their weekend was and everyone chimed in and did a little recap of what they did the past two days.

Then Whitney started telling us how she couldn’t find any parking at the grocery store or Baja Fresh that day and how she really wanted a burrito but couldn’t get one. She had finally given up and just made a sandwich at home.

She then calmly walked over to the trash can (I was in the kitchen) and pulled out a bagel that was on top. I couldn’t see what she was holding at this point because I was defrosting my fish with hot water, but she said in an everyday voice,

“And then I wanted to eat this bagel I had, but when I sliced it open there was a pastic glove in it.”

“WHAT!?” I said. “What do you mean there was a plastic glove in it??? Let me see.”

Sure enough, there was what looked like to be maybe the index finger of a latex glove INSIDE her bagel. Somehow during the process of bagel making it found its way in there.

a bagel and more

Of course we all wondered, “where is the finger?”

It’s like one of those things you hear about on TV, but it never really happens to you. What gets me is that Whitney really didn’t think anything of it when it happened at first. She almost forgot to tell us. Imagine her saying “aw I wanted to eat this bagel, but there was mold on it.” That’s how she announced that a plastic glove had been baked in her bagel.

We all had a pretty good laugh about it. So random right?

So now we’re in the process of drafting a letter to the bagel company … we’re requesting free bagels for life!
